Nigerian social activist, VeryDarkMan narrates the first and only time he met the Mavin Records founder, Don Jazzy who donated ₦100 million to his newly launched Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO).
It would be recalled that the critic unveiled his NGO on Saturday, which is focused on transforming Nigeria’s public education system and providing students with a solid educational foundation using modern tools.
Following the NGO’s launch, over ₦35 million was raised within 24 hours, with Don Jazzy contributing ₦100 million to the cause shortly after.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, VeryDarkMan acknowledged the music mogul’s generous donation, attributing it to Don Jazzy’s belief in the project’s humanitarian goals.
“Let it be known that on the 16th of October 2024, this man named Michael Collins Ajereh aka Don Jazzy donated 100 million to give public school kids advanced education with the aim to give them a good educational foundation,” he wrote.
VeryDarkMan went on to explain that despite their limited interaction, Don Jazzy believed in the impact of his work. The two have only met once, briefly shaking hands during their encounter, with no extensive conversation.
“I and him met once, shook hands and that was it. We no even talk for 1 minute ooo, no be say he know my background or anything,” VeryDarkMan shared.
