“16 and Pregnant” alum Selena Gutierrez’s ex Sean Garinger died on Feb. 28 after being involved in a freak ATV accident, Page Six can confirm. He was 20.

Garinger’s mother, Mary Hobbs, revealed her son had been moving the quad from one parking spot to another in front of his home in Boone, NC, when the tragic incident occurred.

“He pulled [in] front of me to park the ATV, and the ground gave way from all the rain and mud,” she told the US Sun.

Hobbs, 40, shared that she then witnessed the vehicle flip over and crush Garinger’s skull.

“I ran to neighbors trying to get someone to help me get the ATV off of him. No one answered. I ran back to him,” she recalled. “By that time, I realized he wasn’t alive anymore. I just laid next to him until the ambulance showed up.”

Hobbs remembered her only son as her “rock” and her “strength,” telling the outlet, “Sean brightened my world in a way no one else could ever come close to. He was my baby boy, my squishy, my heartbeat.”

Garinger appeared on MTV’s “16 and Pregnant” in 2021 with his then-girlfriend, Gutierrez.

While Gutierrez’s family infamously did not approve of her relationship with Garinger, the couple welcomed two daughters together: Dareli in 2020 and Esmi in 2022.

A family insider told the US Sun that the reality stars were dating other people at the time of Garinger’s death.

Gutierrez, 20, has yet to publicly react to the news of her former boyfriend’s fatal accident.

In addition to his mom and children, Garinger is survived by six sisters: Shania, Lydia, Isabella, Ember, Kayden and Casslyn.
