16 and Pregnant alumna Autumn Crittendon died of a drug overdose, TMZ reports citing the Virginia Department of Health.
The official cause of death was toxicity from fentanyl and para-fluorofentanyl, a synthetic opioid more potent than fentanyl, according to the agency, and her manner of death was listed as accidental.
Crittendon, who appeared on the fifth season of MTV‘s 16 and Pregnant reality show, was found unresponsive July 20 at her home in Henrico, VA. Attempts by paramedics to revive her were not successful and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
16 and Pregnant followed Crittendon’s pregnancy and birth of her eldest son Drake in the show. She went on to have two more children.
Crittendon was the most recent 16 and Pregnant cast member to pass away in the past several years. Valerie Fairman died in Season 2 in 2016 at age 23 from a drug overdose, Jordan Cashmyer, who appeared on the show in 2014, died in 2022 of fentanyl and cocaine intoxication. Most recently Sean Grainger, the father of Selena Gutierrez’s baby in Season 6B, died in March in an ATV accident at age 20.
Additionally, Derek Underwood, the father of cast member Farrah Abraham’s baby, died in 2008 in a car crash shortly before the baby’s birth.
