2 Men Convicted In 2002 Killing Of Jam Master Jay

Two men were found guilty have been found guilty of killing Jam Master Jay, of Run-DMC more than 20 years after the D.J.’s death,

Karl Jordan Jr. was charged with firing the weapon that killed the DJ. He was the godson of the Run-DMC star. Ronald Washington, a longtime friend of Jam Master Jay, allegedly planned the murder with Jordan as payback after he was allegedly cut out of a potentially lucrative cocaine deal. The deal was said to be worth around $200,000.

Carlis Thompson, Jay’s cousin, addressed the verdict to reporters outside of the courtroom.

“It’s definitely a long time coming. Justice delayed is not always justice denied,” he said. “Jason himself was an amazing talent. Life ended far, far too soon, and I’m just glad that justice was served.”

In May, Jay Bryant, who was also indicted in the murder will face a separate trial in 2026. He allegedly let Jordan and Washington into the building through a back exit to allow them to carry out the killing.
