Nigeria recorded their first victory at the 2024 U-18 Women’s Handball Championship, beating Angloa 29-21.
The Nigerian girls lost to Croatia and Montenegro in their first two games in the competition.

Victory over Angola placed them in the third position in Group B to advance to the President’s Cup alongside Angola, Chile, and one of Serbia, Austria, or Sweden.
Nigeria began the clash against their fellow Africans strongly, firing from all cylinders to finish the first half 11-9 and sustained the momentum to extend the lead in second half which ended 18-12.
Croatia finished top of the group, with Montenegro and Nigeria in second and third position respectively. Angola finished bottom.
The fixtures for the main round and President’s Cup fixtures will begin on Sunday, August 18.
