Former Nigerian international Dimeji Lawal believes the Super Eagles will overcome Benin in today’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Recall that Nigeria will be facing the Cheetahs at the Godswill Akpaboo International Stadium, Uyo.
The last time both teams met, Benin defeated the Super Eagles 2-1 in a 2026 World Cup qualifier.
However, in a chat with Completesports.com, Lawal stated that Benin won’t escape Uyo with a point.

He noted that the players are determined to make amends for their poor performance in the World Cup qualifiers.
“I expect a very good game from the Super Eagles considering the fact that the players will be eager to beat Benin to avenge their loss in the World Cup qualifiers.
“Eguavoen has done what he can do at the moment, and it’s left for the players to storm the pitch and bang the goals that will ensure the team picks up the maximum points.
“I am confident Nigeria will win, and I wish them the best.”
