Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has expressed that he should not be limited when speaking in Parliament.
In response to Speaker Alban Bagbin’s request to limit his speech, Afenyo-Markin said, “I cannot be limited, Mr Speaker, let me finish,” during a heated exchange on Thursday, following the President’s State of the Nation address.
The Leader did not welcome the Speaker's order, arguing that when former President Akufo-Addo was in the chamber, the NDC, then in the minority, was given ample time to speak. Therefore, he deemed the Speaker's order to limit his speech unacceptable.
The Minority Leader, who was speaking after the President’s address, appeared dissatisfied with the presentation and began discussing unrelated matters.
