2026 WCQ: Bafana Bafana Hold First Training Ahead Super Eagles Clash

Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Monday started preparation for the all important 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matchday three encounter against Super Eagles of Nigeria.

According to information available on the team’s official X platform, all the invited 23 players took part in the session.

Head coach Hugo Broos reduced the squad to 23 players from an initial 36 last week Thursday.

“Bafana Bafana camp in full swing on day 1, with all players present,” reads a short message on Bafana Bafana’s X platform.

The team will travel to Nigeria via a

chartered flight later this week.

The contingent will land in Lagos before connecting another flight to Uyo.

The South African Football Association (SAFA) is yet to release the team’s full itinerary for the trip to Nigeria.

The former African champions will be up against the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Friday.

The former African champions will entertain the Warriors of Zimbabwe at the Free State Stadium, Blomfeintein four days later.
