Super Eagles Head Coach, George Finidi, says inviting only three home-based players to the senior national team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic is good, at least for now, Completesports.com reports.
The former Ajax of Amsterdam winger spoke at a pre match Press Vonference Thursday night in Uyo, ahead the Super Eagles 2026 World Cup qualifier against Bafana Bafana.
“I think for now, having three NPFL players in the Super Eagles is okay,” starts the 1994 AFCON winner.

“Don’t quote me wrong. This will improve for as long as we keep monitoring the domestic league.
“We’ll continue to get them involved without disrupting the structure.
“We will always want to have our very best for the Super Eagles irrespective of where they come from as long as they are Nigerians,” ‘Finito’ explained.
Finidi gave his squad a clean bill of health, saying he has no injury worries in the team going into Friday night’s clash against South
Africa’s Bafana Bafana.
