Hyderabad: Around 25 percent of India’s population suffers from varicose veins, a condition that can often be treated without surgery. This was highlighted by both national and international medical experts.

Recent advancements in non-surgical treatments are changing how doctors care for patients with vascular issues. These new methods are making it easier for people, even in remote areas, to access high-quality treatment. The Indian Vein Congress (IVC) 2024, held in Hyderabad and hosted by Avis Hospitals, brought attention to this important topic.

Dr. Rajah V Koppala mentioned that the Congress focused on sharing the best practices in non-surgical treatments, such as laser procedures and other innovative techniques. He highlighted how important it is for medical professionals to stay updated on the latest developments to improve patient care.

Dr. Roy Varghese, a vascular surgeon, explained that chronic venous disease affects 20–35 percent of Indian adults. He said that new endovascular procedures have made treatment much simpler, providing a painless option that doesn’t require overnight hospital stays.
