Paris Saint-Germain outcast Carlos Soler is closing in on a move to West Ham United.

West Ham United are looking to revive themselves under the leadership of Julen Lopetegui. They have already made significant investments in their squad this summer as they look to bounce back in the 2024/25 season. While they have already added eight new players to the mix, the Hammers are looking to bring in another midfielder before the end of the window.

According to a report from L’Équipe, West Ham are interested in the services of PSG star Carlos Soler. The Spanish international has already agreed to make the move to Lopetegui’s team and both clubs are slowly closing in on an agreement for the transfer.

Soler came up the ranks at Valencia and made quite a name for himself while playing for their first team. He was a part of their first team setup for over five years before he ended up joining French giants PSG in the summer of 2022. In his debut campaign, he was involved in 38 outings but the majority of his appearances came off the bench.

Carlos Soler needs to leave

Things went from bad to worse in the second season as he was involved in just 28 matches. His game time went down from around 1,800 minutes to just over 1,200 minutes in the second season. While he still has three years left on his deal at PSG, Soler is pushing for a move away and PSG are also looking to get him off their books.

While the Hammers have added a lot of quality to their midfield by signing Guido Rodríguez, they need more quality in the centre of the park and Soler could help their cause. West Ham have already approached PSG for the transfer of the 27-year-old. They already have the green light from the player and according to the report, €25 million (bonuses included) should be enough to strike a deal with the French club who are keen on getting rid of the Spanish international.
