The health of the modern day footballer has become a hot topic of late owing to the sheer number of collapses and other problems, with one ex-Arsenal midfielder becoming another statistic in this worrying trend.
Many football supporters will recall the shocking scenes when a seemingly healthy Christian Eriksen collapsed whilst playing for Denmark in the European Championship back in 2021.
Luton Town captain and stalwart, Tom Lockyer, has collapsed on the pitch not once, but twice in recent years.

Now, despite being at what would be considered a prime age for a football player, 28-year-old former Arsenal star, Kristoffer Olsson, has joined the list of young elite athletes to have collapsed for no apparent reason.
Ex-Arsenal ace Olsson has acute brain issue
His current club, FC Midtjylland, released a statement on their official website which noted that he had collapsed at home and was now in hospital on a ventilator.
Furthermore, the collapse would appear to relate to a previously undiagnosed acute brain problem, and it isn’t clear at this stage how long Olsson will need to be kept in hospital.
Get well soon, Kristoffer.

The Gunners swiftly left their own social media get well message to their former player, and it goes without saying that the rest of the world of football will be wishing him a speedy recovery too.
