After beating Leicester City 4-2 on Sunday, Chelsea secured their place in the semifinal of the FA Cup.

Having lost the Carabao Cup final earlier in the season to Liverpool, winning the FA Cup is Chelsea’s only chance of silverware this season.

Chelsea had a number of good performers against Leicester but there was one player who was booed by the Stamford Bridge supporters and was substituted in the second half because of his underwhelming performance; that was Raheem Sterling.

Football Insider reports that Sterling will probably be put up for sale at Stamford Bridge this summer as part of a fire sale.

Sterling has endured a difficult season at Chelsea

The England international had a forgettable afternoon on Sunday, missing a penalty and then putting a well-positioned free kick wide and high.

The home crowd jeered the former Manchester City player before he was replaced halfway through the second half.

Raheem Sterling could be on his way out of Chelsea

The 29-year-old Sterling left the Citizens to join Chelsea in 2022, not long after Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital assumed ownership of the team.

Even though the Englishman scored an astounding 131 goals in 339 appearances for City, he has had trouble returning to his peak after relocating to London.

Chelsea might have to sell Sterling abroad

The report states that he is expected to be sold when the transfer market reopens this summer as Chelsea look to make sure they satisfy the profit and sustainability standards of the Premier League.

Sterling has only scored 17 goals in 73 outings for the Blues. Since his move from Man City, he has failed to live up to the expectations of the fans.

However, it’s also said that no Premier League team would likely be able to pay the player’s £325,000 weekly salary; as a result, Chelsea could need to go beyond the league for possible suitors.
