The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has urged stakeholders in the affairs of the state not to renege in supporting efforts geared towards the development of the state.

Adeleke, in a statement marking the 33rd anniversary of Osun’s creation, obtained in Osogbo on Tuesday, called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil servants, artisans, farmers and entrepreneurs in the state to play their part in developing it towards a prosperous future.

The governor, who also said governance remains a collective responsibility every Osun citizen must share, implored all stakeholders to uphold the virtue of hard work, integrity, commitment, and unity towards building a state that would be the envy of all.

“As we celebrate the birth of Osun State today, we must also look to the future with renewed determination, as the work of building a greater Osun is ongoing.

“It is a responsibility we all share. We must continue to pursue development with vigour and passion, ensuring that every citizen of this state benefits from the fruits of our labour.

“As your Governor, I am committed to leading this charge with transparency, dedication, and accountability.

“As we all know that governance is a collective responsibility, I call on all of you—our traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil servants, artisans, farmers, and entrepreneurs— to continue to play your part in the development of our state. Together, we can make Osun a model of excellence and progress,” Adeleke said.

He appealed to the citizens not to celebrate the past alone, but must also look ahead into the future while working together in unity to ensure Osun state continues to thrive.

Acknowledging roles played by the founding fathers of the state, the governor said Osun has recorded commendable growth in various sectors.

He however declared that the progress recorded by the state before his administration came on board, was being improved upon, with legacy projects of the current government experiencing steady progress.
