EXCLUSIVE: 3Point0 Labs has signed African comic book publisher and animation company Comic Republic for representation in all areas.
Nigeria-based Comic Republic, set up in 2013 by Jide Martin focuses on digital creation and distribution of original African comic books. Most of its content is inspired by African history and myths, and visions of the continent’s future.
The firm has a library of around 200 characters and is in development on a Vanguards Universe at Universal Content Productions (UCP). This hands the NBCUniversal company access to 14 characters, including Age, Metalla and Sango, with Selwyn Seyfu Hinds, known fort Hulu’s Washington Black, and his UCP-based Mad Massive Entertainment overseeing development for the U.S. studio.
3Point0 Labs will help Comic Republic build and launch CR Motion+, an animation studio that is aimed at bolstering the Nigerian animation industry and expanding African stories worldwide.
