Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has adopted 95 orphans.

Yusuf declared full responsibility for the 95 orphans during a special lunch with the children currently under the care of the state orphanage home, following the loss of their biological parents, in commemoration of the 2024 Independence Day anniversary in Kano.

This was stated in a release by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Mr Sanusi Tofa, on Tuesday.

The statement read, “I want to announce that we have assumed full responsibility for all 95 orphans domiciled in this facility. We will take care of their education from primary to tertiary, healthcare services, feeding, and other social needs throughout my tenure.”

“The governor assured that until the end of his tenure, the orphans would be treated as very important individuals with full benefits, care, and privileges. He added that the state government would accord the children the opportunity to reach their full potential in life.”

“The orphanage home, established 54 years ago, witnessed for the first time the kind gesture that Governor Yusuf offered while spending quality time with the vulnerable children. ‘You are now my children; I will take care of you as my own. You will begin to feel the good side of life, in sha Allah,’ the governor assured.”

The governor also donated food items worth millions of naira for the welfare, safety, and food security of the orphans.
