Manchester United take on FC Twente in their Europa League opener tonight and we’ve looked at our opponents to see which of their players is deemed the biggest threat.

Twente, previously managed by Erik ten Hag, are fourth in the Eredivisie with three wins in six matches.

Speaking ahead of the match, Joseph Oosting, warns his Twente side has what it takes to hurt Manchester United at Old Trafford. They fancy their chances but know they’ll need to be at their best.

One player getting a lot of credit for Twente’s bright start to the season is 22-year-old Sem Steijn. The attacking midfielder leads the goal-scoring charts with 22 goals.

Steijn has seven goals and an assist to his name in eight games this season. That is eight goalscoring contributions in as many games for Steijn, as per Tranfsermarkt.

Nobody can claim Steijn’s form is a fluke either. The rising star scored 19 goals and recorded three assists in 39 games across all competitions last season as Twente qualified for the Europa League.

United have defended well for the most part this season, but we can expect Manuel Ugarte to try keep a leash on the in-form Steijn tonight. The player himself will be looking to make a name for himself under the lights at Old Trafford.
