Michelle Philpots from Spalding in Lincolnshire, suffered two vehicle accidents, and lives with the memory loss condition. Her memory been wiped every single day for the past 23 years, just like Lucy in the 2004 movie. Dr. Peter Nestor, a neuroscience specialist at Cambridge University, claims the type of amnesia is “rare but it does exist.” “It can be very frustrating for me but I have to be patient and understand. I have to keep calm because I love her,” her husband said in an interview in 2010. “I’ve known her for 25 years so I am lucky we met before she had the accidents because she can remember me. Luckily we have lots of photos to remind her, otherwise she would forget it all.” Cheaper By the Dozen The film, which has been adapted in 1950, 2003, and more recently 2022, was actually inspired by a real family: the Gilbreth family, with siblings Frank B. Gilbreth Jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey writing the original book that inspired the movies. Their parents met in 1903, married, and welcomed 12 children. They worked as time and motion study experts. The couple was married for two decades before their father tragically died of a heart attack the day before Ernestine‘s high school graduation. Their book later inspired the 1950 film. Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt starred in the 2003 remake and its sequel, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, followed by the 2022 Disney+ reboot with Zach Braff and Gabrielle Union.
