Already aware of the news, Cundy had asked: "How are you? Forget about me, go on. What have you been up to this weekend? What have you done?"
O'Hara played it cool at first, jokingly replying: "Well, you know, been busy."
Only for Cundy to press him for an answer, adding: "Jay! What have you done? What's happened."
His talkSPORT co-host then revealed: "Oh I got engaged, didn't I?" as Cundy quipped: "Where's the laugh track?"
O'Hara continued: "Because I love her. I was expecting a laugh track. Yeah, I got engaged, mate."
Former Chelsea defender Cundy was quick to wish him well, admitting: "Well done, congratulations. She's a lucky girl, mate. Imagine waking up to you every morning."
However, his remarks were not without the backing of a laugh track in the studio to the pair's amusement.
Cundy went on to claim he would be on the stag do, only for O'Hara to get his own back on his good friend.
The 38-year-old joked: "No, you're not invited, mate. Don't want you there, just causing problems."

He is less keen on the idea of being part of the wedding party, however, after a position as a groomsman was proposed.
Cundy explained: "I'm not really a groomsman, though. I just turn up and drink the champers."
The pair's back-and-forth comes just weeks after Cundy pretended to fall asleep live on air.
He could not resist pointing out how tiresome O'Hara's rants about Spurs have become as he 'dozed off' during the show.
Meanwhile, the ex-Tottenham star even walked out mid-show after Jermaine Pennant called in after their Carabao Cup defeat to Liverpool.
