Real Madrid are definitely not varnished this season. Carlo Ancelotti has this time lost his replacement striker Joselu for the next three weeks!

Already seriously affected by three ruptured cruciate knee ligaments (Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao then David Alaba), Real Madrid must deal with a new injury, that of Joselu. The Spanish international center forward, author of 13 goals in all competitions as an understudy, is injured in an ankle and will be absent for the next three weeks (and therefore for the round of 16 second leg against Leipzig in the Champions League, on March 6).

Carlo Ancelotti will have to do without this offensive option during the clash of the 26th day of La Liga against Sevilla, Sunday evening. Leaders with six points ahead of Girona, the Merengues receive a team led by Sergio Ramos, 15th in the ranking, who is in good momentum. Antonio Rüdiger could regain his place in defense, while Jude Bellingham has resumed the race but should be a little short.

The incredible massacre

Real has had no less than 32 injuries recorded for its first team players since the start of the season. A fairly incredible massacre which did not prevent Toni Kroos and his teammates from winning 29 matches out of the 36 played, for 84 goals scored and 31 conceded. Real have already lifted a trophy this season with the Spanish Super Cup…

The French internationals of Casa Blanca Ferland Mendy, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Eduardo Camavinga, for example, have all been through the infirmary several times since the start of the year!
