Appointed England coach, Thomas Tuchel was not unanimous in his previous mandates.

The information had the effect of a small bomb this week, on the other side of the Channel: Thomas Tuchel is the new England coach. With great experience in the Premier League with a successful stint with Chelsea, the German technician was chosen by the Federation to embody the new Three Lions project.

The arrival of Tuchel is, however, far from unanimous in the Kingdom. Because he’s not English, already. And because he is German. Personalities like Gary Neville have criticized the choice of the Federation in recent hours.

Tuchel tackled by a big name in German football

But it is not only in England that the temperamental Thomas Tuchel could be singled out. Having passed through Paris Saint-Germain, Tuchel is far from being sovereign in his country. After his experiences at Borussia Dortmund, but also and especially at Bayern Munich, the technician made a few enemies, including the very influential Uli Hoeness.

I still remember what I said at the time: “It is clear that he will end up complaining about this commitment and under what conditions”. I am not deceived. It wasn’t hard to guess. Tuchel was a disaster“, thundered the leader in comments given to Bild.
