A former French international believes that Kylian Mbappé could very well scuttle his PSG team.

Kylian Mbappé has found himself in tough times since he announced his departure at the end of the season. The French star has lost his untouchable status within the team and Luis Enrique, the Ile-de-France coach, continues to provoke him with inflammatory statements.

The Spanish coach did it again on Thursday by declaring that his PSG team will be much stronger next season. Implying that Mbappé’s departure will do him good.

These comments surprised observers. Jérôme Rothen criticized them, and it was then Olivier Rouyer, a former French international, to express his disagreement. For him, Luis Enrique does everything to alienate his troops and in particular Mbappé.

Can Mbappé scuttle PSG?

“You’re a player at PSG, you hear that from your coach, you take a big hit in the facebegan by confiding Nancy’s former coach on the L’Equipe channel. There can be two reactions. Either you tell him what you think, or you say to yourself “you’re going to see what I’m going to show you on the pitch” and he’s going to play badly. If he is capable of it? Are you dreaming or what? If there is a strong desire to give up… The middle of the players can be behind their coach, but conversely they can cause trouble and harm.”

Rouyer went on to say that he doesn’t believe at all in the promises made by Enrique: “For me, it’s provocative and I think he has nothing to shake off from what he says. I remind you that in December, he told us that in February his team will be 100 times better.”
