Brazil international Neymar has lent his support to his friend Dani Alves following his conviction for sexual assault.

Daniel Alves, former player of FC Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, was sentenced to four years and six months in prison for sexual assault by the Spanish court. He was convicted of raping a woman at a nightclub in December 2022.

The court also ordered Alves to pay 150,000 euros to the victim. According to information from Brazilian media UOL, Neymar, his friend and teammate in the Brazilian selection, would have helped to alleviate his sentence by settling damages.

In addition, the Brazilian star’s family provided Alves with the services of a lawyer, Gustavo Xisto, who once worked for Neymar’s father.
