Barely retired, Italian Giorgio Chiellini has found a new position in football.

Giorgio Chiellini, the former great defender of Juventus and the Italian selection, has just joined the staff of the LAFC management team.

Chiellini stays in America

The 2020 European champion retired with LAFC at the end of last season. Rather than returning to his country, he chose to stay in California. He was named the club’s player development coach.

“We are grateful to Giorgio for playing the last 18 months of his career with LAFC“said John Thorrington, LAFC Co-Chairman and General Manager. “We are thrilled to welcome a truly brilliant football mind, an incredible leader and an even better person to our team for next season.”

LAFC stated that “In his new role, Chiellini will work with Los Angeles FC coach Steve Cherundolo and his technical team to assist in the development of the first team players.”
