After having experienced all the youth categories of the French team, and even a call-up to the Blues in September 2022 just before the World Cup, Alban Lafont could change his selection. As Ouest-France explains, the 25-year-old goalkeeper is in discussions with the Burkinabé Federation.

“A discussion is underway but nothing has been done”indicated the player’s entourage to the newspaper. Today, with the installation of the trio Maignan, Samba, Areola, and the emergence of promising goalkeepers like Lucas Chevalier or Guillaume Restes, Lafont remains well aware that the train will perhaps never return. As a reminder, the goalkeeper trained in Toulouse was born in Ouagadougou, the political capital of the West African country, where he also took his first steps in football.
