A Real Madrid nugget retires at 19

Marc Cucalón’s career ends there. At the age of 19, the Real Madrid player decided to end his career following an injury from which he never managed to recover. Victim of a cruciate ligament rupture in September 2022, he had complications due to a bacteria which appeared during the operation, and caused damage to his cartilage, preventing him from playing.

In a post published on his Instagram account, he announced the news. “I did everything possible to come back and enjoy this sport, but it was not possible”he confides. Captain of the U19s at the time of his injury and compared to Xabi Alonso, the midfielder will never have been able to start with the first team as many predicted before his injury…
