Nollywood’s most prominent actress, Funke Akindele makes a significant impact on the UK Box Office after her groundbreaking movie, “A Tribe Called Judah” bags £80,000.
The film, already holding the honour of being the highest-grossing Nollywood film, broke Box Office records in the UK by earning an impressive £80,000 in just four weeks of streaming.
The announcement was made on the image-sharing platform, Instagram, by the entertainment company, Film One.
“One and only Big Baller @funkejenifaakindele. Congratulations on your UK Numbers. We love a focused Queen,” it wrote in a post.

It is worth noting that the movie, “A Tribe Called Judah” was released on December 15, 2023. It amassed over N133 million in gross earnings, making it the first film to achieve such a milestone during its opening weekend at the Nigerian Box Office.
Within three weeks of its release, the film’s gross revenue reached N854 million, solidifying Funke Akindele’s position with three of the top-grossing Nollywood films to her credit.
Her movie “Omo Ghetto the Saga” grossed a total of N636 million in 2020, while “Battle on Buka Street,” released in 2022, earned N668 million.
On January 4, “A Tribe Called Judah” achieved another milestone by grossing N1 billion, setting a new record as the first Nollywood film to reach such a significant milestone at the Box Office.
