Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan made his debut with Maharaj and went on to work in Loveyapa alongside Khushi Kapoor. While his role was appreciated in Maharaj, Loveyapa was bombed at the box office. Just Like Aamir Khan, Junaid Khan has too seen setbacks initially in his career. In a recent interview, Aamir gets candid about Junaid’s trajectory highlighting his strengths and weaknesses.
Aamir Khan on Junaid Khan’s career and failures
Speaking to Instant Bollywood, Aamir addressed Loveyapa’s underperformance, saying, “Accha hua” (It’s good it happened). He elaborated that setbacks are essential for learning and growth, adding, “I think he’s doing well, and he will continue to learn. Everyone has to face challenges in their life. Like his last film wasn’t successful. It’s good in a way. It will make him tougher, it will make him work harder.”
Reflecting on Junaid’s progress over the past few years, Aamir praised his son’s dedication and talent. “While watching Maharaj, I felt he became the person, and in Loveyapa too, he is convincingly Gaurav,” he remarked. “He has made a good start. He has done a good job and that’s all that matters. His biggest strength is that he gets into his character. I feel he is a good actor. But, he has his weaknesses too.” Aamir laughed and jokingly said, “He is a great dancer, just like me.” He then shared that Junaid is not very good at giving interviews. “When he gives interviews, he gives really strange answers. But, he will learn. And what I like about him is that he likes to make his own way. Makes his own mistakes and learns on his own. He is a good guy,” he said.
Talking about what’s common between them Aamir stated, “We are very similar. I was very shy like him. Even I was bad at interviews. We are both very weird people.”
Aamir and Junaid upcoming movies
On the work front, Aamir is gearing up for release of Sitaare ZameenPar. The film is all set to release this year end. While Junaid has a romantic drama with Sai Pallavi lined up.
