The wife of the Governor of Abia State, Mrs Priscilla Otti, has distributed relief materials to orphanages and charity homes in the state.

Among the items distributed were bags of rice, cartons of noodles and spaghetti, cartons of tomatoes, sanitary materials and cash.

Some of the orphanage and charity homes that received the items are So-Said Charity Homes For Vulnerable Persons Ubakala, Agape Charity Foundation, Ubakala, St. Vincent de Paul Centre for Mentally Challenged Persons, Umuafai, Ahiaeke Compassionate Home, Seven Day Adventist Church, Aba and Ngwa Road Motherless Babies’ Home, Aba.

Handing over the items to the orphanages and charity homes, the wife of the governor said that the token was to show concern and make the people involved feel beloved.

Mrs Otti, represented by the wife of the deputy governor of the state, Mrs Adaeze Emetu, praised the efforts of the caregivers and encouraged them to continue in their selfless service to God and humanity.

She said, “It takes love and patience to do what you are doing, may God bless you richly.”

Speaking on behalf of the homes, the founder of So-Said Charity Homes, Mrs Felicia Martins, appreciated Mrs Otti for the kind gesture.

Martins said that Mrs Otti has succeeded in creating a unique and memorable joy for the less privileged in society.

She said, “Your generous gift and financial support will go a long way in sustaining the work we do at our various orphanages and charity homes.”
