Injuries can derail any WWE Superstars’ momentum, especially when they were on the verge of getting a push. Now it appears one WWE Superstar will be making their return to in-ring competition tonight.
WWE NXT is full of talented young stars and that includes Jakara Jackson. She was supposed to compete in the NXT Women’s Breakout tournament but suffered a broken wrist injury back in October last year.
This week’s episode of NXT will feature a unique No. 1 Contender 20-Woman Battle Royal “With A Twist.” The final four competitors will advance to a traditional Fatal-4-Way bout, with the winner earning the opportunity to challenge Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Vengeance Day 2024.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez talked about Jakara Jackson’s health status prior to NXT this week. Alvarez noted that Jakara Jackson has been cleared for in-ring competition and Meltzer stated that she already competed over the weekend.
Alvarez: “It appears Jakara Jackson is cleared and will likely be in that battle royal.”
Meltzer: “Yeah, she was wrestling over the weakened. She’s just starting back. It was a broken wrist.”
Alvarez: “It was a broken wrist or hand and she was only supposed to be gone a few weeks but she was gone a long time. Those are sometimes hard to heal.”
Jakara Jackson is one of NXT’s brightest young stars and fans will be more than happy to see her compete inside the squared circle again on NXT television. We’ll have to see how she will fare upon her return.
