The departure of Stefano Pioli this summer is almost complete for AC Milan. If no official announcement has been made, the club is working internally and is exploring avenues to replace him. In recent hours, a new name has been added to the list: that of Marcelo Gallardo.

Sky Sport Italia indicates that the 48-year-old technician should soon be released by his club, Al-Ittihad, and the Rossoneri want to take advantage of this situation to attract him to Lombardy. The leads leading to Sergio Conceiçao or Paulo Fonseca are still being studied, but Gallardo is at the top of the list. His salary (around twenty-two million euros net) could, however, be a hindrance, despite the fact that he is free.
