Officially named AC Milan coach in recent days, Sérgio Conceição should not be consumed by the pressure of succeeding Paulo Fonseca. His compatriot was in fact sacked, less than five months after his arrival in Lombardy. But even if the results of the former Lille coach did not necessarily live up to expectations in Italy, Conceição further pointed out the collective failures of the group this week at a press conference.

“If I’m here now, it’s not a good sign. That means something didn’t go well, he admitted, without targeting his predecessor. I say, it’s not one man’s fault. It’s a lot of people’s fault.” It’s up to him to rectify the situation by convincing his players to go his way.
