The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences is keeping it all in the family as they have just named Jennifer Fox as producer of the 15th Governors Awards ceremony that will take place on Sunday November 17, 2024 at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood.

Fox was just elected to the AMPAS Board Of Governors for the the first time in June, but is no stranger to the Governors Awards. She is embarking on her sixth consecutive time producing the event having previously performed producing duties for the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th ceremonies. The Governors Awards, unlike the Oscars, are not televised but instead are briefly highlighted in a clips package on the ABC broadcast of the Academy Awards.

At the 15th Governors Awards, Honorary Oscars® will be presented to Quincy Jones and Juliet Taylor, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award to Richard Curtis and the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award to producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.  All will receive Oscar statuettes with this year marking the first that the Thalberg Award will no longer be a bust of Darryl F. Zanuck for whom it is named, but an actual engraved Oscar instead.

“Jennifer is an exemplary producer, and we are delighted to welcome her back to the Governors Awards for a sixth time,” said AMPAS President Janet Yang.  “Her expertise is unmatched, and we’re looking forward to a joyous event paying tribute to the achievements of Richard Curtis, Quincy Jones, Juliet Taylor, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.”

“I’m thrilled to produce this special event for the Academy for another year,” said Fox.  “It’s truly a highlight to honor the careers of such talented individuals and help kick off Oscar season.”

Fox has produced or executive produced many significant films of the last 20 years, including Tony Gilroy’s directorial debut, Michael Clayton which earned seven Oscar nominations including Best Picture.  She began her film industry career in development and production at Universal Pictures, where she worked on several films, including Erin Brockovich.  Fox spent the next six years producing with Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney’s production company, Section Eight, where she worked on such Oscar nominated movies as Good Night And Good Luck and Syriana.  Her other film credits include Duplicity, The Bourne Legacy, We Need To Talk About Keven, Nightcrawler, The Report, The Last Duel, and Magazine Dreams, the latter as exclusively reported by Deadline is finally getting a theatrical release next year after being picked up by Tom Ortenberg’s Briarcliff Pictures. She is currently working on her next film, The Pack.
