EXCLUSIVE: Jane Seymour, star of Acorn TV’s mystery drama Harry Wild, is staying in business with the AMC Networks-owned streamer in a series that mixes true-crime and genealogy.

Seymour, best known for her role as Bond Girl Solitaire in Live and Let Die and Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, is fronting Relative Secrets.

The series marks the first unscripted series for Acorn TV, which is the home of international scripted series such as Bloodlands, Midsomer Murders and My Life Is Murder.

Relative Secrets will delve into participants’ family histories—and discover the dark truths buried in their bloodlines.

Each episode will investigate an everyday American family’s darkest mystery, aiming both to solve the mystery and explore how it shapes that family today. It will connect American families with their UK heritage including a 99-year-old World War II veteran who worries his absence led to the murder of his grandmother, the daughter of a serial killer desperate to carve out her own identity from her father’s sordid past and a mother who abandoned her three children to start a new secret life.

Seymour hosts and will work with archaeologist Natasha Billson (The Great British Dig).

The series is produced by Cream Productions, which is behind series such as Fear Thy Neighbor, Murder U, and BTK: A Killer Among Us. David W. Brady, Kate Harrison Karman, John Ealer and Seymour exec produce. AMC Studios distributes.

“I’m thrilled to come aboard Relative Secrets as host, deepening my rich relationship with Acorn TV,” said Seymour. “Now, in addition to solving cleverly crafted mysteries on Harry Wild, I get the chance to uncover real family unknowns. As we all know, reality is often much stranger than fiction – I can’t wait to dive in.”

“We are delighted to begin Acorn TV’s journey into unscripted originals with Relative Secrets and the incredible Jane Seymour. This series blends true crime and investigation with the thrilling mystery storytelling Acorn TV audiences know and love, creating something truly special,” added Don Klees, SVP, Programming, Acorn TV.
