Adam Cole looks to be on the mend, as he was spotted backstage at AEW Dynamite.
The former NXT Champion has been out of action since last year. He has struggled tremendously with injuries since debuting with AEW at All Out 2021. A head injury cost him over half a year of his career in 2022, and had Adam Cole fearing for his future.
He eventually returned in 2023, main eventing Wembley Stadium against MJF at All In 2023. The pair also embarked on a ROH Tag Team title run. However, this ended when Adam Cole suffered a major ankle injury in September 2023.
Despite being revealed as The Devil at World’s End, he hasn’t wrestled in over a year now. However, he was seen backstage at AEW Dynamite without any ankle support, fanning the flames of speculation regarding his comeback.
Former Ring Of Honor owner Cary Silkin was backstage at AEW Dynamite last night. He posted photos of himself on Twitter, alongside various ROH alumni. These included Mark Briscoe, Colt Cabana, Jay Lethal, Mike Bennett, Roderick Strong and, most importantly, Adam Cole.
“This is @ringofhonor So good seeing these guys tonight !””This is @ringofhonor So good seeing these guys tonight !” Cary Silkin wrote alongside these photos.
Notably, Adam Cole was without any crutches or ankle supports. This would seem to indicate that he is edging closer to a return to the ring.
It was previously reported that he was set to return to training last month. That, coupled with the picture of his apparently healed ankle, will give fans confidence that they will see Adam Cole returning for a showdown with MJF very soon.
Just not as The Devil, please.
