Adam Copeland isn’t sure whether a heel run would work for him at this stage in his career.

Adam Copeland, also known as Edge, has been a top heel at different points of his career. He was forced to retire in 2011, and he was a beloved babyface upon his return in 2020. Copeland had a brief run as a heel in 2022, as he was the leader of the Judgment Day. He later turned face again, and he has remained a face ever since.

Adam Copeland Talks Being A Heel

Speaking with VANCOLOUR host Mo Amir, Adam Copeland discussed his past work as a heel. He noted that his attempt to turn heel in WWE failed, so he doesn’t know whether trying again would work anymore.

“It’s always fun to play a character where your job is to fall flat on your face and to have no redeeming qualities, and that’s easy,” Adam Copeland said. “It’s easy to get people to not like you. Especially in today’s climate, it’s hard to get an audience on your side. I think the only reason I’ve been able to, up until this point, is because every understands the real story of Adam behind the character and the battle to get this thing back after being forced to retire.

“I think now, as much as it’d be nice to try and be heel, I tried it once and it failed pretty miserably [laughs]. So I don’t know if it would work anymore. But it was fun while it lasted, for sure.”

Adam Copeland signed with AEW in October 2023. He is the reigning TNT Champion, and he is set to compete at AEW Dynasty on April 21.
