Adam Copeland is in awe of Christian Cage‘s heel work.

Upon his arrival to All Elite Wrestling in 2021, Christian Cage quickly established himself as a reliable babyface. However, in the following year, Cage turned the page, and turned his back on Jungle Boy (aka Jack Perry). Now, Cage finds himself in the center of the TNT Championship scene, taunting his opponents with mockery of their deceased family members, and a shameless routine of cheating to keep the title firmly in his grasp.

While speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated‘, Cage’s long-time friend Adam “Edge” Copeland shared high praise for Cage’s villainous portrayal.

“He does this so well because he wants to be one,” Copeland said. “Somewhere along the way, that’s got lost. Heels became cooler than the babyface. That’s not how it should be. That’s not how he sees it, either. I mean, the man wears a cut-off turtleneck. There’s nothing cool about what he’s doing,” Copeland said.

“He’s fully committed. He’s a Bond villain and loving it,” he added. “It’s fun to be involved with.”

At AEW Worlds End, Copeland challenged Cage for the TNT Championship in a no-disqualification match. While Copeland emerged victorious in this clash, Cage’s ally Killswitch (fka Luchasaurus) provided an opening for him to quickly wrestle Copeland in a rematch. As a result, Cage regained possession of the title.
