Adam Pearce spilled the beans on his iconic “pants-splitting” segment with Brock Lesnar.
During a 2021 episode of Smackdown, Adam Pearce “indefinitely suspended” Brock Lesnar from the WWE. As you can imagine, this was not a great idea by the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
Following the suspension, Brock Lesnar sauntered down to the ring. He hit the Raw General Manager with an F5, which split Pearce’s trousers. He then hit a second one for good measure, as the crowd chanted “one more time”.
Adam Pearce appeared on Insight with Chris Van Vliet recently. Van Vliet asked about his segment with Brock Lesnar. He called it “amazing”, revealing that he didn’t know he’d split his pants until going backstage after the event.
The Raw General Manager discussed how the second F5 wasn’t planned, and was simply an example of Brock Lesnar listening to the crowd.
“It was amazing; they split on the first one, which was hilarious. I remember saying to Brock, ‘Hey, I just want to know, how do you grab for the F5? I know it’s a fireman’s carry.’. And so he showed me how he’s going to grab me, and I said, ‘Don’t worry, I’ll get light for you.’ And he goes, ‘You don’t have to.’ And I said, ‘I know I don’t have to, but I will, brother. I got you.’. What a pro, what a freak athlete.”
“I didn’t know I split [my pants] until I got in the back, and everyone’s laughing at the fact that I split my pants. I was like, ‘Why don’t you take two F5s and see what happens?’ The true professional that is Brock Lesnar, he listened to the crowd because they started chanting, ‘One more time! Yes, one more time! One more time!’
“I’m laying there, and I kind of look up. Again, professionalism—we made eye contact, and when the eye contact was sustained for longer than two or three seconds, I knew that ‘one more time’ was about to happen, which is cool.”
