Five people were on Sunday evening confirmed killed in a clash between herders and farmers in Dune village, Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Arewa PUNCH reports that the killing occurred just a few days ahead of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun’s visit to the state to commission the new police headquarters.
While speaking with Arewa PUNCH exclusively on Monday, in Yola, the spokesman for the Adamawa State Police Command, CSP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed that five people were killed during the clashes between the two group and that six were receiving intensive medical treatment at a facility in Yola, the state capital.
“The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankwambo, has deployed massive police personnel to the crisis area, and peace has now returned to the place,” he said.
He added that the police personnel from the state’s Criminal Investigation Department have been deployed to the area to investigate and arrest those behind the crisis.
Arewa PUNCH reports further that a bloody crisis broke out between herders and farmers in Dune on Sunday evening, resulting in the killings of dozens of persons according to local sources.
