Adrien Rabiot will finally play his first minutes as a starter with Olympique de Marseille.
Adrien Rabiot, unexpected recruit from Olympique de Marseille, will experience his first start under his new colors against Montpellier, this Sunday in Ligue 1. During this Friday’s press conference, Roberto De Zerbi, the coach of OM, confirmed the tenure of the French midfielder.
“Rabiot has returned well, he will start on Sunday, declared the Marseille coach. We wanted to succeed in putting him in good physical condition and he is in good shape. I am very happy with him. He is a humble and available boy. He wanted to come here and he is a player who can make the difference. He is a player with a very good level. I’m proud to have him here. He is a top level player like Højbjerg or Greenwood. »
“We will try to respect his qualities”
Arriving on Canebière last September, the former Parisian has so far only made a few brief appearances against Strasbourg (1-0 defeat) and Angers (1-1). Rabiot’s lack of pace also forced him to miss the Blues’ October rally. A blessing in disguise for the Tricolore, who will start at La Mosson in his favorite position.
“He will play in his classic role. He is a midfielder who knows how to insert himself into the lines and who knows how to find himself at the conclusion. We will try to respect his qualities”explained the Italian before discussing the acclimatization of the 2022 world vice-champion with the Ciel et Blanc.
“I think he’s a good player, everyone knows that. he has integrated very well since his arrival. His career speaks for itself. I can’t wait to play with him and get along well,” he confided.
