Konosuke Takeshita will defend the gold at AEW Revolution.
At AEW Grand Slam Australia, Omega and Will Ospreay defeated AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher. Omega then challenged Takeshita to defend the title against him at AEW Revolution.
On the February 18th episode of AEW Dynamite, Orange Cassidy defeated Roderick Strong to earn a shot at Takeshita’s title. Takeshita beat Cassidy to retain the gold on the February 26th episode of AEW Dynamite. The broadcast team then confirmed that Omega would challenge Takeshita for the title at AEW Revolution.
