Toni Storm continues to reign supreme.
At AEW Revolution, “Timeless” Toni Storm defended the AEW Women’s World Championship against Deonna Purrazzo, who had been undefeated since she arrived in AEW. Storm was accompanied to the ring by Lutha and Mariah May, and they played a pivotal part in the outcome of the bout.
Despite a valiant effort from Purrazzo, a distraction from Lutha prevented the referee from seeing Storm tap out to Purrazzo. May then got Purrazzo’s attention, and Storm dropped the challenger with the Storm Zero to clinch the win.
Here’s how the match concluded, courtesy of our play-by-play coverage:
Storm drops Purrazzo with a clothesline. They trade blows, and Purrazzo fires up with a flurry of offense. She traps Storm in a Fujiwara arm-bar, but Storm gets out of it. Purrazzo controls the action, but Storm gains the upper hand and hits a hip attack in the corner.
Storm gets a two-count with a DDT. The champion wrenches Purrazzo in an ankle lock, but Deonna rallies. She takes Storm down and goes for the arm-bar. Lutha distracts the referee as Storm taps. May distracts Purrazzo, and Storm hits the Storm Zero for the win.
