Legendary Cameroon goalkeeping legend Joseph-Antoine Bell hopes the Indomitable Lions will improve when they face Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

Both giants of African football will clash in the round of 16 on Saturday.

Cameroon had to rely on a stoppage time goal against Gambia to secure qualification into the knockout round.

The five-time AFCON winners went into the clash against Gambia with just one point, following defeat to Senegal and a draw against 10-man Guinea.

The Eagles cemented their place in the round of 16 thanks to a hard fought 1-0 win against Guinea-Bissau in their final Group A game.

Looking ahead to the big encounter Bell, in a chat with former Super Eagles media officer Toyin Ibitoye, admitted that the Indomitable Lions have not been impressive.

“We are going to witness a good game and the best team would win,” the 1984 and 1988 AFCON winner said.

“I hope Cameroon would improve it’s game because what we’ve seen so far has not been good.

“Of course they qualified but you cannot compare both teams and I hope Cameroon will match up to standard.“

In the last meeting between both teams at the AFCON 2019 the Eagles won 3-2.
