Former Cameroon international Georges Mandjeck has said the Indomitable Lions losing again to Nigeria in the knockout stage at the AFCON is disappointing.
A double from Ademola Lookman secured a 2-0 win for the Super Eagles on Saturday.
It is a third straight win for the Eagles against Cameroon at the AFCON.
Since defeating the Eagles in the final of AFCON 2000, the Lions have lost in the next three meetings at the 2004, 2019 and 2023 tournaments.
Mandjeck, a 2017 AFCON winner with Cameroon and who was part of the Indomitable Lions squad that lost to the Eagles in 2019, was quoted on AllezLesLions:“Very disappointed to see the Lions crash out in the knockout like in 2019 against this Nigerian team.
“I am sure that the players gave everything but that the coach does not live up to the potential of his players.”
