Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali has dedicated his Man of the Match award to his fellow players, reports Completesports.com.
The Chippa United goalie was the hero as the Super Eagles defeated the Bafana Bafana of South Africa 4-2 on penalties to seal a place in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Nwabali saved two penalties and made a number of impressive saves in regulation time.
It was the first time he will be winning the award in the competition.
The 27-year-old refused to take credit for the victory and attributed it to the team’s winning ethic.
“It has been a good team performance throughout this tournament. I really appreciate the management and coaches,” Nwabali said after the game.
“These guys have really guided me a lot throughout this tournament, and I feel so happy.”
