Moses Simon believes Victor Osimhen will soon rediscover his scoring touch despite failing to score in recent matches for the Super Eagles.

Osimhen failed to score for the fourth consecutive game as the Super Eagles defeated the Palancas Negras of Angola 1-0 at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium on Friday night.

The 25-year-old has registered one goal in five games for Nigeria at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

Simon stated that Osimhen is more concerned with the team’s success rather than individual glory.

“The atmosphere is good in the team. Osimhen is thinking about winning, not just scoring,” he told a press conference in Abidjan.

“If he gets a chance to score he will take it, but he’s focused on the team victory first.”

The Super Eagles will face the winner of the game between Cape Verde and South Africa in the semi-final at the Stade la Paix, Bouake on Wednesday.
