AFCON 2023: Two Cameroon Key Players Doubtful For Super Eagles Clash

Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions could be without Jean-Charles Castelleto and Georges-Kévin Nkoudou, for Saturday’s AFCON 2023 round of 16 clash with Nigeria.

According to local press reports, via www.camerounactuel.com, Castelleto and Nkoudou, were unable to complete training on Friday due to symptoms linked to malaria.

The two players featured in their country’s three group stage games.

Nkoudou was one of the standout players for his side as he bagged three assists in the five goals scored by Cameroon.

This news would come as a blow for Cameroonian coach, Rigobert Song, who hopes to field his full team for the first time since the start of this year’s AFCON.

The five-time AFCON winners recently welcome back Vincent Aboubakar and Clinton Njie from injury.

The duo missed Cameroon’s group games but are in contention for a starting shirt against the Super Eagles.

Meanwhile Alhassan Yusuf, who missed the Eagles’ game with Côte d’Ivoire and Guinea-Bissau due to injury is back.
