Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro claimed his team deserved their win against the Palancas Negras of Angola.
Peseiro’s side zoomed into the semi-final after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Pedro Goncalves’ men.
Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman slotted home the winning goal four minutes before the break after he was teed up by Moses Simon.
“We played a good game, Angola showed they deserved to be here. We created two chances in the first half and hit the post in the first half,”Peseiro said during his interaction with media after the game.
“I’m very happy with my players. We scored one goal and could have had one or two more.
“We did well against a good team. We controlled the game and dominated our opponent.
“In the first half, we played well, closed down the spaces and didn’t give them room to operate.
“After the break, Angola came out more and we had chances on the counter attack which we didn’t utilise.
“I’m happy for my players, we deserved to win the game. I want to congratulate them on this victory.”
Nigeria will face the winner of Saturday’s quarter-final between Cape Verde and South Africa for a place in the final.
