Benin Republic head coach, Gernot Rohr on Thursday unveiled a 25-man squad for his side’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Captain Steve Mounie, Jodel Dossou and veteran goalkeeper Saturnin Allagbe are some of the regular stars named in the squad by Rohr.

Mounie and Dossou were on target in Benin’s 2-1 victory over the Super Eagles in June.

Reliable defender Cedric Hountondji and enterprising midfielder Junior Olaitan were also selected by the German.

Lokomotiv Sofia striker Steve Traore has been recalled after he last featured for his country in November 2023.

The Cheetahs will take on the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday, September 7.

The West Africans will host the Mediterranean Knights of Libya three days later in Abidjan.
