The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been handed a tricky draw in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The draw ceremony took place in Johannesburg, South Africa on Thursday.
The three-time winners are drawn in Group D with Benin Republic, Libya and Rwanda.
The Squirrels of Benin Republic, who are managed by former Nigeria head coach, Gernot Rohr defeated the Super Eagles 2-1 in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers last month.
The Bees of Rwanda are also in the same World Cup qualifying group with Nigeria.
They are scheduled to host Super Eagles at the newly refurbished Amahoro Stadium in March 2025.
48 countries will participate in the qualifiers, while the first two teams from the 12 groups will make it to Morocco.
The qualifiers will kick-off in September and run through November, 2025.
The AFCON 2025 finals will be played between December 21 and January 18, 2026.
